Confusional Quartet
is one of the most recognized bands in Italy's avant-garde rock scene.
The instrumental combo was formed in 1978, and is characterized by an
explosive, powerful live act.
Their music is hard to categorize,
they have been compared to Devo, Frank Zappa, John Zorn. Someone
defines them No wave, someone Progressive, others simply say they are
"martians".Born in the so called "New Wave Era", the band was invited
to perform at "IV Settimana internazionale della Performance",
and shortly after toured with Lydia Lunch.
First to rehash Italian Futurism (1979), sharing its love for speed,
originality and dynamism. They have performed countless gigs and
published several records, along with performances, fashion shows,
movies and videos.
In 2011 the band publishes "Confusional Quartet" (LP - CD),
featuring the song "Futurfunk", written together with Bob Rifo
(The Bloody Beetroots)
In 2015 is released "Confusional Quartet play Demetrio Stratos" (LP
- CD), composed using some unreleased recordings of the iconic singer's
very last performances.
In 2019 they have been invited at Sonic Protest Festival,
Paris.
